Day 2
Weather was sunny and hot. We decided to walk through downtown Dangriga to eat breakfast at Riverside Cafe. It ended up being closed but a local recommended King Burger just a couple blocks away. Food was good (I had fried chicken) and the watermelon juice was refreshing. Afterwards we went back to the resort to get picked up for our boat ride out to the island -
Isla Marisol Resort
Eddie, the owner of Isla Marisol saw me and suprised me. It was good seeing him again; he's always smiling and never worrying about anything. The boat ride out was beautiful. The water color varied from a deep blue to a vibrant turquoise. On the boat we met several other guests to the island - Dave, Shannon, Dave's mom and her friend, Al and his wife. After about an hour of traveling, we arrived at the island.
We docked at the bar where Zoe, the bartender greeted us. After unpacking, settling in, and having a cocktail, we decided to kayak out to a local shallow reef and snorkel. It was a good snorkel and we managed to see barracuda, a nurse shark, a variety of fish, and lots of beautiful coral.
Dinner was at 7pm which was good. Afterwards we mainly hung out at the bar drinking mostly rum and cokes. Zoe was really cool and turns out she is from N. California. While at the bar, Cecilia dropped her sandal into the ocean. Not wanting to lose her $25/pair sandal, she jumped into the water to fetch it. If I ever lose my sandal into the ocean, I know who to call.
See the colors...
