From the island to the jungles, we only ran out of gas once
04.27
Day 6 We started packing up and cleaning out our bungalows because we were scheduled to leave the island. Our last dive at Isla Marisol was in the morning around the same location where I lost my camera. We persuaded Zoe to come out for the dive which was a nice change of pace. During the dive, we spread out and searched for the camera. No luck.

When we got back from the dive, we were told we had to leave soon because a reporter that was staying on the island needed to catch a flight. It was unfortunate we had to leave in such haste. I felt I really didn't have enough time to say all my goodbyes.

The boat ride out was good until after 2 hours of traveling on a supposedly 1 hour ride, Lyndon, the captain, made an abrupt 90° turn. I thought, 'So maybe he just missed the dock.' I started to be concerned though when he stopped a local to ask for directions and kept checking the boat engine. We eventually ran out of gas several miles away from our intended destination. Lyndon's compass wasn't working and we veered far off course.

After making a few calls, we were eventually rescued by one of Eddie's friends. We docked at Pelican Beach, picked up our rental car (Mitsubishi Montero) that was dropped off, and drove through the Hummingbird Hwy to Ian Anderson's Caves Branch.

This was the second time I visited Caves Branch which has slightly changed. Dinner at Caves Branch was a good hearty buffet style meal. Since I was a repeat customer, I was offered a discount for me and my 'wife'. Since we're cheap bastards and will do anything for money, Cecilia pretended she was my wife. One of the workers at Caves Branch asked me if Cecilia was my wife and I responded "sure!".

It was supposed to be a non-eventful day, so much for that.
