Catalina, Ca
Woke up early to go scuba diving for my open water PADI certificate. Met in Long beach by 6am. Boat took about 2 hours to catalina. Jumping into the water with all my gear at first was a little intimedating. Once I jumped in though I was fine. Not as cold as I thought. Kelp forest was amazing. Saw a bunch on interesting fish. Sea cucumbers, spider crabs, etc. I had a really fun time. Very tired and somewhat seasick at times though.
After the trip Rob and I went to get some steaks and grilled them up at our house. Chris, Julia, Jenny joined us. After, I cleaned all the scuba equipment, cleaned up, updated journal...sleep. |

Cinco de Mayo. Got into work at normal time. Breakfast at work. Not much to do actually; most of the shots for our show are almost done. For lunch I went to Ocean Adventures Dive Co. to drop off my scuba tank and pick up another. Ate at French Market Cafe. Work. Peet's. Left work at 6pm. Home. Ate leftoever steaks from the day before. Finished watching my PADI scuba certification instructional dvd. Internet researching what to do and where to stay for my belize trip. Journal. |

Hastings Plastic shop, Santa Monica, Ca
Left for work a bit late but got to work a bit early. Peet's. There wasn't much to do at work so I basically just browsed the internet while my computer was rendering things in the background. Lunch with Johnny and Barry at Koo Koo Roo chicken. This place hasn't change; still really expensive for the amount of dry bland chicken given. Work. Eventually, things go so slow that Barry and I went to Hastings Plastic Co. to get some clear plastic tubes and rods for our chrome spheres (for HDRI). Back to work. Worked til 6:30pm because work needed me to figure out a shot. Home.
Cooked seafood and rice with sauteed mushrooms. Was good. Laundry. Homework for PADI class. Journal. |

Traffic
West LA, Ca
Woke up happy today because I dreamt I got some camera equipment for half price at Samy's. Work. Sean was over at work reviewing shots. All the shots we did were approved to go out to film. Since they won't be viewed til friday, there's nothing to do at work until we hear from them. I planned and researched my vacation.
Lauren visited me for lunch and we went to Yashima's. Had the tofu salad with una-don combo (hot udon). Food was great and I was stuffed. It was good to see lauren again because I haven't seen her in a long time. Back to work. Peet's. Internet. Did no work today. Felt like vacation but I had to spend it at the office. Left at 5:30 and went to Samy's camera to check out their Nikon camera flashes. I can't decide which one to get.
Barnes and noble to read the latest Sport Diver magazine. Scuba lessions at LMU. This time no womens water polo team. Home. Clean up. Dinner at Johnny's pastrami. Home. Journal. |

The usual routine. Peet's. Nice sunny day. Still slow at work but at least I did something work related. Low stress. During my lunch break, I went to Paul's to get a hair cut and then to In-and-Out for a #2 combo animal style with a strawberry shake. Back to work. Peet's sometime. Left work about a half hour early. Dropped by Ocean's Adventure Dive Co. to get a new tank for the dive on sunday. Home. Met up with Steve and we had a beer at my place. Dinner at Hooters. Our waitress Jessica was nice to talk to. It was nice talking to steve and catching up. Home. Chilled. T.V. with roommates. Journal. |

Carlin, Tony, and Chris's b-day bash
Culver City, Ca
Woke up early for a screening for work. At work, did a few things but not much. Slow. Lunch at Poom. Peet's in the afternoon. After work, went home and then went to Restaurant Shin for sushi and to celebrate Carlin, Tony, and Chris's May b-days. There were a lot of people, sushi was good (though took a while because they only had one sushi chef). Afterwards, everyone went to my place to party. Beer, fooseball, karaoke. Slept at around 3am. |

Woke up around 11am and planned for dim sum with shawn, carlin, mark, and tony. Carlin and Mark couldn't come. Dim sum was really good. Very good quality food and good service. After dim sum, I went to Samy's Camera in venice to get some things. Met Glenn who I saw last sunday on my dive in catalina. He is a cool guy and we chatted a bit about photography and diving. He gave me a generous discount on a polarizing filter. Home.
Went out to eat and celebrate my mom's b-day and m-day at Cafe Bizou in Sherman Oaks. Excellent food, service, and atmospheres. 11pm, drove to my mom's place to stay over because I had scuba dive in channel islands the next day. Slept at midnight. |
