Yesterday I went to Samy's Camera to see if they had a classic 1950's 'Diana' type camera. They didn't, but they had a Holga toy camera. It's essentially the same but instead of costing $100, the Holga only costed $16.99. It's a medium format toy camera. I snatched it along with some film.
In other news, I ordered some DVDs online about a week ago and they still haven't shipped. Additionally, the vender added 3 other dvds to my order which I did not select for purchase. I had to call them to remove these extra items. Just my luck again that something didn't run smoothly. |

This morning I noticed my Coral Banded Shrimp that I've had for at least 2 years in my reef tank was all beaten up - a claw was missing, antennae chewed off. Traditionally, the shrimp is the aggressor of the tank. What could have done this to him?
Coming home from work today, I looked for the shrimp and found him being eaten by one of the crabs in the tank. I'm not sure if the crab actually killed him or just scavanged him. I've mysteriously lost two fish, and several smaller shrimp in the tank. It's weird the Coral Banded Shrimp just died because he's been in the tank this whole time.
Just another thing that died/broke in my life. |

This journal entry is more to document the phenomena of everything around me breaking. Over the past few weeks, just about everything I use and enjoy has broken. I have never experienced this amount of bad luck before.
It all started about a month ago when my car began making funny noises. These noises got worse and eventually my car was unusable (had to get it towed from Santa Monica). A bearing in the differential was broken. Shortly after that happened and while my car was in the shop, my portafilter handle on my Starbucks Barista machine broke. A week after I got my car back from repairs, it overheated when I was driving home. It still overheats and I plan on taking it in for repairs again. About a week ago, my Denon AVR-3300 receiver stopped working correctly. The power button failed to work. That's in for repairs. Yesterday, my new Apple G5 computer shorted itself and wouldn't turn on. I took it into the Apple store for repairs. Today, when trying to make a repair on my TV, it fell off the bench and split in half. That's now outside on the side of the curb awaiting pickup from the trashman.
I'm thinking, eventually I will run out of things to break, and this will all come to an end. |
